Cooking Oatmeal on the Stovetop

Measure slightly more than 1 cup of water (250 mL) into a pot.

Heat on the stovetop with high heat.

Add 5 pinches of salt (0.75 grams).

Add one spoonful of honey (35 grams).

When the water reaches a boil, add ½ cup of rolled oatmeal.

Immediately reduce heat to medium.

Do not cover.

Stir occassionaly, checking to see that the mixture is simmering.

When there is no more water remaining in the bottom of the pan, the oatmeal is done.

Let cool for 2 minutes before serving.
